Five years later, Apple brought a complete revamp of the earbuds that had made the Beats brand a darling for athletes, the Powerbeats Pro 2.

These earbuds were made to hook onto the ear securely, without any cables. The original Powerbeats Pro quickly became a choice for fitness lovers, adorned by sporting celebrities LeBron James and Anthony Joshua.

For 2025, Apple has taken the best attributes of the original model and improved the fit trimming down the bulk. It has added in noise cancellation, and included heart rate monitoring, all for £250, trying to reclaim the title of the ultimate premium workout earbuds.

The overall design resembles the previous version. A flexible silicone wire wraps around the back of the ear, allowing the earbud to settle comfortably inside. With even less weight and just as much security, these are suited for long hours of listening on any commute, remaining firm in place during the most vigorous workouts.

The earbuds run about eight hours with noise cancellation on or ten hours with it off, while a compact flip-top case supplies roughly 3.5 full charges. While the case is about 30% smaller than before, it retains enough heft to slide into a bag easily but will only just fit into a pocket.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 comes with the same H2 chip and connects like the AirPods Pro 2. It provides effortless switching between Apple devices, which includes spatial audio in movies and music, audio sharing, Siri integration, and lossless audio via Apple Vision Pro.

These earbuds also include all the bells and whistles for Android users. These include pairing, personalization, and updating, providing the versatile type of option not available, as of yet, with any other Apple earbuds.

Through the H2 chip, the Powerbeats Pro 2 inherits many sought-after features from the AirPods. It includes active noise cancellation that competes with Apple’s best offerings in completely blocking external noise.
