Apple users are sounding the alarm over a persistent glitch causing them to be late for their tasks. Several iPhone enthusiasts have reported that their morning alarms are failing to ring. This issue occurred nearly nine months after Apple acknowledged the problem and promised to bring out a solution for it.
A report suggests that this issue has been troubling some users since at least April of the previous year. Many Reddit users have noted that the problem continues to affect them at intervals.
One user on Reddit recounted that his alarm went off more than two hours late. A screenshot was shared showing an alarm set for 10:30 am that did not ring until 12:42 p.m., as it was indicated on his Apple Watch.
Other users shared their experiences in the comments regarding the alarms. One of them lamented, “I’ve been dealing with this for ages and thought I was losing my mind. I’d wake up two hours after my alarm was supposed to go off, only to find my watch vibrating silently.”
Another shared, “I felt ridiculous trying to explain this to my boss without sounding like I was making excuses.”
The discussion in the comment section included individuals using different iOS versions from iOS 17 to the latest iOS 18 with Apple Intelligence. Some users even tried to disable the ‘Attention Aware Features’ which can lower alarm volume if it detects your face. However, this did not fix the issue for most of the users.
To make sure that alerts are loud enough, users can go through the option ‘Sounds and Haptics’ in Settings and then slide the ‘Ringtone and Alerts’ volume all the way up. Reports of iPhone alarm bugs have been circulating for years, users can hope that Apple fixes this issue soon.
