| Updated on March 19, 2025
Review of Charge6 JBL

The Charge 6 from JBL is in the most complicated conditioning that it has to succeed its predecessor: the Charge 5, which has significantly set the bar for toughness, features, lifespan, and sound quality. Fortunately, the Charge 6 is built to match all those expectations.

One of the sturdier Bluetooth devices you will see today. Also true to its name, it allows you to recharge one smartphone or tablet when the battery runs low. The Charge 6 offers up to a full day of jamming plus four more hours with the potential to boost playtime and fast charging. Furthermore, sharing audio with an unlimited number of devices is possible via the Auracast feature.

In terms of sound reproduction, the Charge 6 has dramatically transformed from its previous image of a bass-heavy speaker to a more balanced, all-around type of sound experience. Bass is definitely there, and it thrills, but not at the expense of mids and highs. There, the Charge 6 actually does well with an all-round sound profile with an expansive soundstage.

Although one may find distortion here and there when subjected at high volumes, such instances are rare, which is commendable for a speaker of this size price at $200. Thus, if users are looking for a portable sound system that bangs when it comes to quality, the JBL Charge 6 is ideal.

It has a very stylish and durable design; powerful sound for its size; really long battery life; charging devices; sharing audio with no limit with Auracast. However, the definite ones are that distortion may occur in the highs and mids at maximum volume.

Under which, the JBL Charge 6, despite looking nice, might deceive you regarding the sound capability. However, it cannot be missed without falling prey to an error incurring the loss of one of the top Bluetooth speakers for this year.

Underneath this modest fabric exterior is an extremely well-built combination of woofers, tweeters, and transducers that combines to deliver predominantly clear sound.
