Upcoming Mac Pro AirTag 2 and iOS 19 innovations

This summer has plenty of great products up for launch at Apple, including this affordable iPhone 16e, alongside the brand new MacBook Air and Mac Studio coming with M4 and M3 Ultra chips. The company is expected to enrich at least three other devices before the closing curtain on the summer season. But, as usual by Apple standards, nothing is quite set in stone.

Smart Home Command Center

Apple is creating a new Home Command Center, which would serve as a center for all smart home items. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has stated that this new device would resemble an iPad and is set to be announced in early 2025. The Command Center will likely feature 6 or 7 inches in size, an A18 chip, and compatibility with Apple Intelligence.

Mac Pro

As per Bloomberg, a refreshed Mac Pro will launch in the summer of 2025. Initially, it was hoped to be featured with the M4 Ultra chip, but after the arrival of the M3 Ultra for Mac Studio, this has become confusing. If plans stay unchanged, the new Mac Pro would continue with the M3 Ultra, which currently is the most powerful Mac chip Apple has released.

AirTag 2

The next incarnation of AirTag is expected to boast a second-gen Ultra Wideband chip, which was first seen on the iPhone 15 series by Apple last year. To improve security against unauthorized tracking, Apple plans to make it trickier to uninstall the built-in speaker.

In terms of appearance, the new AirTag is not expected to have major design changes compared to its predecessor. But its range might be improved, expanding its Precision Finding even over longer distances.

iOS 19i

OS 19 will be unveiled by Apple at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June of 2025, although the actual rollout will be in September along with the launch of the iPhone 17 series.
