Nintendo is gearing up to launch its Alarmo smart alarm clock in the local March next month, 10th of March, 2025. The launch is going to be through select retailers across the country.
The announcement was made public via the dedicated page of the product which has been activated recently on the Malaysian website of the company. Alarmo was launched in October of last year for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in the U.S. and Canada only.
It contains a 2.8-inch LCD screen motion detector with themes that can be customized to include your favorite Nintendo characters. The device includes a game-inspired melody and sound effects to wake users up.
The motion sensor will allow users to snooze the alarm by just waving their hand or they can also switch it off by just getting out of bed. For manual operation, the Alarmo comes with a big confirm button, dial, back button, and notification button.
Though local pricing for the Alarmo remains unannounced, it is selling for US$99.99 (around RM443) in the U.S. It is expected that Nintendo Malaysia will be selling it at a recommended retail price that, while on the higher end, would be more competitive than current third-party listings.
In case anyone was unaware, several retailers in Malaysia are already selling the Alarmo for RM700 to RM900, presumably coming from the exclusive Nintendo Switch Online run and imported for enthusiastic early birds. With Nintendo’s official launch and the expiry of the exclusivity, we expect to see a downtrend in the prices.
Nintendo has not officially revealed the local retailers where the Alarmo will be sold. Moreover, the company stated that the product will only be available while stocks last, which indicates that only a small number of products will be available for the upcoming launch period.
