The official date for the Nintendo Direct dedicated to the Switch 2 has been decided 2nd of April, 2025 at 6 AM PT on Wednesday. Nintendo has announced that this presentation will offer a more in-depth and detailed look at the Switch 2. The details will be revealed after a brief introduction of the console that took place last month.
During the initial reveal, viewers were treated to a preview of the Switch 2’s design. It was a sneak peek of what appears to be Mario Kart 9, and a hint at the potential mouse mode for the new Joy-Con controllers.
However, there have been several questions regarding the Switch 2 like the function of the enigmatic new button on the Joy-Con. Joy-Con is the processing power of the console and the purpose of its new ports.
The upcoming Nintendo Direct is also looking forward to unveiling the complete launch lineup of games for the Switch 2. It comes along with a release date which is anticipated to be between June and September 2025.
There is a hope that Nintendo will reveal the price of the Switch 2, which analysts estimate will be around $400. As a clearer picture is starting to form of the gaming landscape for the Switch 2, a plethora of rumored third-party titles have emerged.
In a recent interview with IGN, the developer behind Civilization 7, Firaxis, expressed that the potential mouse mode of Joy-Con is definitely intriguing. In addition to this, Nacon indicated that it has games that are ready for the Switch 2. Nacon is a French video game and accessory company that is famous for its titles like Test Drive Unlimited and Greedfall 2.
EA has also mentioned that franchises such as FC, Madden, and the Sims would be excellent additions to the lineup of Switch 2.
