In early December, Samsung presented Project Moohan with a secondary glimpse shown during the Galaxy S25 launch in January, alongside an announcement of the Android XR. The Android XR headset is now ready to be premiered at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025.
As stated in the preview sent by Samsung to MWC 2025, which takes place on March 3-6, the company will showcase its first Android XR headset, Project Moohan. The project should be an interesting insight into the AI-enhanced extended reality.
Initially, in mid-December, Samsung and Google announced the developer kit for Project Moohan, which means ‘infinity’ in Korean. After a 30-minute hands-on, it is said that this is almost the final hardware for a consumer launch sometime in 2025.
The headset is powered by Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 of Qualcomm with external battery power, whereby larger packs can connect via USB-C. Prior to the public announcement of Project Moohan, Samsung provided select partners with units for application development. Moreover, additional developers will get access to the same in December.
Nothing short of a revelation for the MWC would fill the audience with many expectations regarding the announcement of the product’s name, price, shipping time, and full specifications. It was believed that it was more or less a lightweight, which has been stripped to the looks of the product.
This would ordinarily mean that an announcement would take place later in 2025. Most probably it could be at the Unpacked in Summer, which is generally been used as an event to announce that year’s foldable devices. As for the shipping date, it is possible that the date will not be provided anytime soon for several more months. Furthermore, Samsung has already launched the Galaxy A56 5G, A36 5G, and A26 5G, with a special preview of the Galaxy S25 Edge also on the cards at MWC 2025.
