A leading analyst for Apple (AAPL) has revealed that the tech giant is considering the creation of a humanoid robot. In a recent update on social media platform X, TF International Securities’s Ming-Chi Kuo shared that Apple is investigating both humanoid as well as non-humanoid robots as a part of its vision for a future smart-home ecosystem.
Kuo noted, “These innovations are currently in the initial proof-of-concept (POC) phase within the company. Considering the current advancements and standard development timelines, mass production of Apple’s robots is unlikely to commence before 2028 or later.”
It was also pointed out by Kuo that Apple has been surprisingly transparent about some of its robotics research during this early POC phase. He emphasized that Apple remains in the nascent stage of product development.
The proof-off-concept phase serves as a testing ground to assess the viability of core technologies and product concepts before moving forward. He remarked, “However, many initiatives never advance beyond POC — the Apple Car stands out as a prominent example of a project that has stalled at this stage.”
As of now, stocks of Apple are experiencing a seven-week consolidation pattern with the official buy point set at 260.10, according to IBD MarketSurge charts. This buy point coincides with the all-time high achieved by stock on the 26th of December.
IBD analysis suggests that Apple stock could hit an early-entry buy point around 240 if it surpassed its 50-day moving average.
Apple is not alone in considering the development of a humanoid robot, Tesla (TSLA) is also working on a humanoid robot which they have named Optimus. Other startups like Agility Robotics, Figure AI, Boston Dynamics, and Unitree Robotics are also making strides in this field.
Meanwhile, Nvidia is working to promote its processors and software tools for the development of humanoids and other types of robots.
